Another city I explored on my ten-day-being-away-from-hubby was Nuremberg. It’s not my first time there, it is in fact a city I’ve often been to but, I always go about with the whole family. This time, going about alone, I searched for Albrecht Dürer’s house by myself…one on my bucket list for 12 years now and one that has finally been crossed out. ^_^

Naples would be one of the city that surprised me…and not positively. Compared to the other European cities we’ve been to, it is quite unsightly – but, maybe because it is quite an old city, aged to experience and history. It has a busy urban landscape feel and you might feel unsafe as you walk by but no, we didn’t encounter anything untoward (gott sei dank!) during our stay.
Rarely, as mentioned earlier, do I get to go out with a friend who could accompany me around the city in the mornings. When I do, I would end up eating with her or with him somewhere. One of my favorite spots to have tea and some sweets is at the Vienna Marriott Hotel. So what’s with all the walking and sweating when you are bound to gain a few more pounds after enjoying a slice of heavenly cheesecake? I believe, it’s the time spent that matters.
waiting for food, son 2 took this pic lol
School started two weeks ago and it means being out and about, buying this and that, submitting documents and whatnots and a lot more hullaballoos! I sometimes find myself lacking time to prepare decent meals not just for myself but more importantly for the three tigers I have to feed. They may be small (yet) but their appetites are bigger than mine!
Sometimes, I wish I have someone who I can always drag to go with me. Just to go about the city, gawk at the historical places, eat at all the fancy restaurants and even at the corner store selling kebap; have cake and tea, talk about stuff that aren’t mundane and do other things bestfriends do when they’re together. You see, I don’t have that kind of friend, particularly a girl friend -yeah, I feel like my social life seemed like a sorry one. Most of my colleagues are older than I am, most of them work throughout the day and sometimes I can’t have intellectual conversations – just because. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not looking down on anyone, but it’s probably only hubby who can relate to my way of thinking and to stuff I’m interested with. And he too, has to work.
This year’s summer definitely came so late and was spent too short! Gone just like that and spent with rains too. On those days when it really gets hot – which I don’t complain about really, I try to get me some frozen yogurt. Shops selling them sprouted like mushrooms in a span of 3 years and even ice cream parlors and gelateria offer them too. There are two shops I frequent though.
What I like about frozen yogurts/froyo is that they go well with fruit flavors. I’m not so certain about what they say about froyos – I’m sure yogurt as is is healthy and when food is taken in moderation, it’s alright. So here are some of the frozen yogurt I had – some I forgot to take photos of, others I can’t find the photos of. ^_^
